Finishing the Course

The excitement is building as the end of the school year approaches.  Just two and a half more weeks and summer vacation will be here.  Parents and teachers are looking forward to this time as much as the students.

Still there is much left to do.  Let me challenge all of us to pursue excellence in the tasks that remain in this school year.  There are events to attend and school work to be done.  Do not let your guard down or give up at this point.

God always wants us to do our best.  Paul encouraged Timothy, a young pastor, to always be ready and energetic in his service to the Lord.  He used such statements as "be instant," "be an example," and "neglect not."  Paul knew that a young person like Timothy had to constantly be proving himself.  Likewise, our students need to do their best.

As final projects, exams, and year-end test come due, our TCA students will become very busy with all of the activities of school, church, and home.  Do not lose heart.  They need to do thier best every single day.  Parents help your children to determine to excel and not to give up just because the end is near.  Help them to set realistic goals for improvement.  Together we will have a fantastic ending to our school year.

Praise to the Lord!

For the past few days we have been praing for the thousands of Alabamians who have been devastated by the tornadoes and severe weather.  We are also thankful that God has cared for our school family by keeping us from a large amount of destruction and injury.

While a few of our families have endured damage, the Lord, for the most part, kept the school, and our families from the loss that has so effected our state.  Additionally our sister schools in the direct path of the storm are initially reporting that God has been gracious to them as well by keeping the damage to their facilities and families to a minimum.   Some have asked how TCA can be of help in this crisis.  Our first concern is that of organization.  We want our efforts to be a help and not a hinderance to those in need.  We are looking at our options and will keep you informed of our findings.

May Days

Although we are in school for less than a full month in May, there are several days that you do not want to forget.

The month begins with National Teacher Appreciation Week (May 2nd-6th).  Take this opportunity to express your thankfulness to your child's teachers through a kind word or small gift.

There are still a few field trips coming in May.  Then there are Elementary and High School Awards Programs.  Please make a special attempt to attend these events.

Graduation and Baccalaureate programs are near as well.  High School graduation will be the last official function of the 2010-2011 school year on May 18th.
